The Stigmatized Native Boy

Social stigma is the end of the line.

Those who believe talk is just fun and play are mistaken.

Broken social connections lead to a social death spiral.

The prostitutes baby was born on the wrong side of the bed, and it wasn't his fault. No one was going to accept his side of the story. He didn't want to be offside, but those who brought him into the world made the rules. All he could do was release his screams into the deep fog of the forest.

He struggled to be accepted, as others were forbidden to socialize with him. He was like a lone kite in the sky being blown by the unpredictable wind. He tried to remain calm and engaging, but the ice-cold stares would not melt. He had been rejected, and those around him shunned him.

The village leaders were delighted by his solitude and laughed around the dining table.

He was the butt of their jokes. What he didn't realize was that he was worth more than that. He was human just like the others. He was flesh, blood, and soul; those who downplayed his value were sadly wrong. But so often social stigma is sadly for life.
