The weather in the Amazon forest often transitions from wet to dry.

For example, a morning can bring heavy rain, while the afternoon can bring scorching hot blue skies. The rivers can also fluctuate between high and teeming with fish, and low, making it difficult to find food. The tribespeople have a thorough understanding of their environment, knowing when to engage in leisure activities and when to hunt and gather. They are well-versed in the seasons for planting and harvesting, understanding that there is a time for everything. Those who are experienced and knowledgeable tend to thrive the most in the forest.

The boy utilizes posts cut from trees to create a fence around his garden, aiming to safeguard it from both domestic and wild animals.

Once the fence is completed, he covers it with a bug net, giving his garden the appearance of a miniature dwelling that attracts curious onlookers. Gathering a variety of seeds from the village elders, the boy plants them in his garden. In a matter of weeks, green shoots emerge, with certain varieties showing faster growth than others. By the end of the month, some plants have already taken root while others are still in the early stages of growth. To provide ample space for growth, the boy begins transplanting some of the plants.

The adolescents assemble in the forest for a clandestine meeting, devising a plan to harvest Rioha's garden.

They split into two factions, with one group leading him away from the garden to partake in a swim in the river. A rope swing had been erected over the river for recreational purposes. The other group would then have sufficient time to gather produce from his garden and sell it at the market. They also had a few scouts to distract any curious onlookers.

Upon his return to the garden, Rioha was dismayed to find that it had been pillaged. The sight left him visibly distressed and discouraged. However, his companions urged him to persevere and continue tending to the garden, emphasizing the importance of producing and cultivating bountiful crops. They emphasized the vital role a skilled gardener plays in sustaining a community. Rioha not wanting to give up took their advice and continued with his gardening.
